| Aviation Quality Improvement / Training Program |
Med-Trans Corporation takes great pride in its safety record, as this is the direct result of our Quality Improvement Program. The training program and our employee evaluation program for pilots provide a constant monitoring of our employees and their work habits. Monthly written testing, hands on training every 120 days, four different individuals monitoring and evaluating, and the employee self evaluation are all part of the program.
We are confident that Med-Trans Corp. offers the most complete and comprehensive training package found in the air ambulance industry. Administrative staff and engineers receive training at various times throughout the year, which may be a Bell Tech Representative giving hands on training to the engineers or administrative staff attending the national air medical conference.
Med-Trans Corporation is convinced that an integral part of any safety plan must include a detailed and comprehensive training program. Through the years, Med-Trans Corp. has continually strived to provide pilots and medical crew members with the knowledge and expertise necessary to perform their duties and responsibilities safely and efficiently. With the demanding and often challenging mission requirements of emergency medical helicopter operations, few companies in our industry have enjoyed such long-term success and accomplishment.
At the core of our training concept is a system of checks and balances that ensures an extensive and standardized teaching process. The Chief Pilot is responsible to implement and monitor our training program.
Company instructors regularly conduct ground and flight training on a
120 day cycle, while company check pilots are responsible to certify
performance through oral and flight evaluation. The Director of
Operations is responsible to oversee and guide the entire training and
evaluation process. Unlike other programs that often use the same
individual to instruct and evaluate, Med-Trans Corp. is able to
guarantee standardization through this three tiered strategy.
